At the 17 May 2022 House Intelligence subcommittee hearing on UAP, the first in decades, Gallagher asked Pentagon officials Ronald Moultrie and Scott Bray about the "Admiral Wilson memo", the disputed Wilson–Davis notes describing an alleged contractor-held UFO program. They said they were not familiar with it. Gallagher also asked about the 1967 Malmstrom missile shutdowns. He supported further UAP transparency and later backed the UAP Disclosure Act. He left Congress in 2024 to join the defence company Palantir.
