SE Michigan, 845 pm, Dec 1
(Mod bot deleted last post so now I have to re-write my whole description)
For over a year now I've been seeing these lights on the horizon, sometimes high in the sky, almost like satellites. They appear usually as a yellowish light that slowly brightens in place before moving in a random direction before slowly fading and seconds, sometimes instantly appearing nearby where it faded. Occasionally another light will join the first and play the same game.
Last night I was lucky enought to see two that eventually turned into four for a short time!
The night before, and a few times in the past, when they were done doing whatever it is they're doing, they disappeared completely only to reappear minutes later as a white light and move upward slowly in tandem. Imagine two motionless stars perpendicular from each other that slowly start moving upwards only to fade from sight. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen.
I've tried driving out toward them, but they appear to be far far away. It's usually the same direction they appear, and roughly the same time. 845 pm. During the summer I didnt see them as much. I stay outside if it's clear, hoping to see them. I'd say I've seen this about twenty times by now.
Occasionally a helicopter or plane will fly past, this is pretty busy airspace, and the lights almost seem to react. Sometimes they'll fly back and forth near the approaching plane and others they'll disappear completely. They also, and this sounds crazy, seem to react to me pulling out my phone to take pics or video. Last night, though, I was able to get some pics and crappy video. I get way too excited and shaky when I see them.
Just so you're aware, I know my astronomy pretty well, and I know what a drone or saltelite looks like. I also work on airplanes, so I'm pretty damned familiar with how those work. I've seen Space-X satellites a few times, pretty cool but also extremely obviously satellites. I've been sitting on these sightings for a while now wanting to talk about them, and I'm familiar with all the excuses.
Swamp gas and ball lightning has not been ruled out, lol.
