Description

My husband and I were watching the Northern Lights from a beach on Cape Cod last night. The Northern Lights were very faint so I took a few photos with the long exposure setting on my iPhone. The second I began to take my last photo, I saw something moving in the distance above my husband’s head. I don’t think it’s a lens flare, because I saw it with the camera and my naked eye.

The long exposure took 10 seconds, then I tried to snap a quick video. It is much darker without the long exposure setting. Right after I began filming the clip, you can see it darting off to the right (note that the brighter light on the horizon is the light from a nearby boat).

With the video alone, it looks like a bug. But I was shocked when I looked at the photo! It looks like a clip art version of a flying saucer.
