My wife and I may have seen a UFO last night on our way home from dinner. Our sighting is pretty underwhelming but hopefully it's worth the time to share. It was around 9:30 PM, we were driving West on Golden Gate Canyon Rd near Golden Gate Canyon State Park when we saw a light zip across the mountain tops. It was a bright white light about the size of a BB if held at arms length and by far the brightest object in the sky. The light was contained with no trail/trail, a solid light traveling at incredible speed in Northerly direction. The sighting lasted about a second and took place at a 2 o'clock position relative to us at about 30 degrees from ground level. The light traveled down and away from us at about about 15 degrees and roughly 45 degrees. We heard no sound. My wife thinks it changed direction to a slightly steeper degree towards the end but I cannot corroborate that as I was driving and she got a better look at it. However, we both saw the light and simultaneously exclaimed "Wow, did you see that!?" I would describe the lights movement as being similar to a shooting star however it was really low on the horizon (just above the mountaintops) and quite a bit larger than any shooting star I've ever seen. I would describe a star as being the size of a grain of sand held at arms length and this was close to the size of a BB. My wife and I have seen comets/meteors in the past and this did not look like either of those two phenomenon. Hope this is meaningful to someone. Thanks for reading!

UPDATE:

After doing a bit of research I think it’s likely my wife and I saw a meteor. There is possible correlation to the Northern Taurids I believe..? Most of the videos/pictures of meteors we looked at did not resemble what we saw.. Contained, very bright white light. However, I was able to find a video that my wife and I agree has some similarities. The very last second of the meteor seen in this video looks similar to what we saw. https://youtu.be/MDpusp92Xrk We did not see any tail or trail so we think it’s possible we noticed the light/meteor towards the end of its visibility.
