Ansel Talbert was the military and aviation editor of the New York Herald Tribune in the 1950s.
Conquest of Gravity
In November 1955 Talbert published a series of articles on research into the "secret of gravity" at major U.S. aircraft companies and laboratories, including the Glenn L. Martin Company, Convair, Bell and others. He quoted scientists and executives predicting that gravity control might one day power aircraft. The series is often cited by researchers such as Nick Cook as evidence that corporate gravity research was open in the mid-1950s before falling silent, possibly because it went into classified programs.
