In Above Black, former Air Force electronic intelligence specialist Dan Sherman says that the telepathic messages he believed he was receiving changed from conversation to logs of alien abductions, which made him want to leave the program he calls Project Preserve Destiny.[1]

The messages

According to a summary of the book, the change came after Sherman asked his "Grey" contact, whom he called "Bones", about the program itself, and the being ended their conversations. Afterwards, Sherman says, he received "abduction data": dates, locations, the likelihood of a person being taken again, and a pain rating from 1 to 100. He says he later traced some of the coordinates to the Florida panhandle, upstate New York and rural Wisconsin.[1]

Leaving the Air Force

Sherman says the work left him isolated and troubled, and that when he asked to return to normal duties he was told he could neither go back nor leave the service. He says he got his discharge anyway. He left the Air Force in 1994.[1][2]

Dates

Because Sherman left the service in 1994, the abduction messages must have come before then, not in mid-1995 as some summaries say.[2]

Assessment

There is no corroboration for any of this, and Sherman is the only source. His story resembles 1980s and 1990s claims that the government tolerated abductions as part of a deal with aliens, none of which has been supported.[1][2]
