Fort Hood hidden opening claim — An Air Force captain describes a pilot seeing a hidden opening in the ground at a Texas airfield.

According to an Air Force captain quoted by Leonard Stringfield, a pilot flying near Fort Hood's Gray Army Airfield in Texas glimpsed a hidden opening in the ground, which the captain suggested might be an entrance to an underground facility.

The account was published in Stringfield's Status Report III and later republished by Linda Moulton Howe. Fort Hood (renamed Fort Cavazos in 2023) is one of the largest military bases in the world, and during the Cold War it housed nuclear weapons storage at a site called Killeen Base. That real secret facility may lie behind some of the rumours. No records support the specific claim.
