Franc Milburn's directed-energy claim — A former UK officer claims directed-energy weapons were used against UAP scientists.

Franc Milburn is a former British Army paratrooper and intelligence officer who has written about the Pentagon's UAP Task Force and related subjects. In 2022, he claimed that directed-energy weapons had been used against UAP researchers, and that a British unit had carried out a crash retrieval in the late 1980s.

Milburn said the crash retrieval claim came from a single source. He has written for the website Liberation Times and others.

The UK Ministry of Defence hasn't commented on the claims, and no evidence supports them. Directed-energy attacks have been alleged in other contexts, such as "Havana Syndrome", but U.S. intelligence concluded in 2023 that a foreign adversary was very unlikely to be responsible for most of those cases.
