Goldberg's work is cited in discussions about whether the Air Force's interest in gravity research in the 1950s was linked to UFOs or anti-gravity. He said the program funded basic research by leading physicists, with no hidden aims. He later became a professor at Syracuse University. His role shows that the Air Force did fund serious gravity physics in that period.
