Mark Skidmore is an American economist and professor at Michigan State University who studies public finance.
Missing money
In 2017, Skidmore and Catherine Austin Fitts reported finding about $21 trillion in "unsupported" accounting adjustments in the Department of Defense and the Department of Housing and Urban Development between 1998 and 2015. They argued this could hide undisclosed spending, which some in the UFO community linked to secret programs. Critics say the adjustments are accounting entries rather than missing money. The analysis contributed to calls for a full Pentagon audit, which began in 2018.
