In 2006, Tajmar's team reported a small gravity-like effect near spinning superconducting rings, sometimes called the "gravitomagnetic London moment", which drew attention as a possible breakthrough but could not be confirmed. Later, at Dresden, his team carried out careful tests of claimed propellant-free thrusters, including the EmDrive and Mach-effect thrusters. They found that the apparent thrust came from heating, magnetic interactions and other measurement errors. He is widely respected for testing extraordinary claims rigorously.
