Navy officer on the Montauk claims — An anonymous forum poster says a Navy officer dismissed some Montauk claims as nonsense.

According to an anonymous 2008 forum post, a senior Navy officer said that most of the stories about the Montauk Project were nonsense, but that Camp Hero had been used for genuine classified work.

Camp Hero, at the eastern tip of Long Island, was an Army coastal defence post in the Second World War and later Montauk Air Force Station, which operated a powerful SAGE air-defence radar until 1981. Its giant radar tower still stands in what is now Camp Hero State Park.

The post can't be verified, and the officer isn't named. Its claim is consistent with the ordinary history of the site: real Cold War military radar work, but no evidence of the time-travel and mind-control experiments described in Montauk Project books.
