An anonymous informant in the files of crash-retrieval researcher Leonard Stringfield said that in 1979 a craft was recovered in Oregon, and that he helped load crates of material during the operation.[1]

In engineer Robert Wood's 2004 summary of Stringfield's 80 crash-retrieval reports, the Oregon case is report 68. The source was known to another researcher and had been a Marine involved in the recovery. He described deep ruts at the site, the object being placed on a large flatbed semi-trailer under a tarpaulin, and helping to load crates onto a helicopter. Wood used it as one of three example cases with notable details.[1]

Stringfield gathered anonymous crash-retrieval testimony from 1978 until shortly before his death in 1994, publishing it in a series of self-published status reports.[1][2]
