Timothy Gallaudet (born 18 March 1967) is a retired U.S. Navy rear admiral and oceanographer who served as Oceanographer of the Navy and later as acting head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Since retiring he has spoken publicly about UAP.[1]
Navy and NOAA
Gallaudet served in the Navy from 1985 to 2017, rising to Oceanographer of the Navy and Commander of the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command. He then joined the Department of Commerce, where he was acting administrator of NOAA until February 2019.[1]
The 2015 email
In written testimony to Congress, Gallaudet said that in January 2015, while he led the Navy's meteorology and oceanography command, he received an email from the operations officer of Fleet Forces Command during a pre-deployment exercise of the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group. He said the email included the video now known as "GoFast", showing an object whose flight he believed was unlike anything in the U.S. arsenal, and that the next day it disappeared from his account and those of the other recipients and was never discussed again. No independent record has confirmed the deletion. A Pentagon analysis later concluded that the GoFast object was not moving very fast and so was not anomalous; Gallaudet criticised it for not interviewing the aviator who recorded the footage.[2][3]
Testimony and advocacy

Gallaudet testified at the House Oversight hearing of 13 November 2024 alongside Luis Elizondo, Michael Gold and Michael Shellenberger, urging greater government transparency. He has said he saw footage of UAP and of unidentified submerged objects while on active duty. He sits on the advisory board of Americans for Safe Aerospace and is a research affiliate of Avi Loeb's Galileo Project.[1][4]
