The Cooper documents are a large collection of papers, many marked "TOP SECRET/MAJESTIC", that UFO researcher Timothy Cooper said he received from anonymous sources between 1992 and the late 1990s. Presented as further records of the alleged "Majestic 12" group, they are widely regarded as forgeries.[1][2]
Background
The original Majestic 12 documents, including the Eisenhower Briefing Document, surfaced in the 1980s through the circle of UFO author William Moore, and were declared "completely bogus" by the FBI in 1988.[1]
The documents

From the early 1990s Cooper said he was receiving more material by post from anonymous sources. A 1999 report said he had received more than 2,000 pages, about ten per cent of them stamped as "TOP SECRET/MAJESTIC" or similar. Cooper shared many of them with nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman, and, together with aerospace engineer Robert Wood and his family, the material was promoted as new evidence of a secret government UFO program.[1][2][3]
Assessment

Skeptic Philip Klass exposed many of the documents brought forth by Cooper and Robert Wood in the 1990s as forgeries. Friedman and the Woods defended some of them. Critic Seamus Coogan has written that Cooper himself later disowned the documents, though this rests on a single critical source.[1][2]
