Eric Burlison (born 1976) is a Republican member of the US House of Representatives from Missouri, in office since 2023. He has been one of the most active members of Congress on UAP, hiring former whistleblower David Grusch as an adviser and serving on the House task force that held UAP hearings in 2025.[1][2]

In 2024 Burlison asked House leaders to set up a committee to study UAP. Instead, a task force on declassifying federal secrets was created within the House Oversight Committee, without subpoena power, and he became a member.[1] In March 2025 he brought Grusch on as a special adviser, and in 2025 he introduced UAP disclosure legislation.[1][2] He has said he believes UAP are either manmade objects or angels.[1]

At a task force hearing in September 2025, Burlison showed a 2024 military video that, according to ABC News, appeared to show a Hellfire missile bouncing off a bright object off the coast of Yemen. Physicist Avi Loeb and The War Zone concluded the object was most likely a drone launched by Yemen's Houthis, and later analysis suggested a balloon and an optical illusion caused by parallax.[1]

In July 2025 Burlison travelled to Mexico to examine the so-called Nazca mummies, alleged three-fingered alien bodies that scientists have identified as a hoax.[1]
