Former Air Force security officer Christopher Cabrera told researcher Robert Hastings that in late 1998 he and three other guards saw a silent triangle of lights over "Area 2", a nuclear weapons storage site on the Nellis range near Las Vegas. Hastings published the account in April 2015.[1]
Area 2

Cabrera, who served in Security Forces from 1998 to 2002 and arrived at Nellis in October 1998, described Area 2 as then one of the Air Force's two main nuclear weapons depots, overseen by the 896th Munitions Squadron. Two- to four-person "Whiskey" patrols covered numbered markers along its perimeter.[1]
The sighting

Cabrera said that one winter evening in late 1998, just before the end of his shift, he and three others saw three very bright amber lights in a vertical triangle, about 100 feet up and roughly a quarter-mile away. The lights faded in and out in sequence at least twice over about ten seconds, lit the area like daytime, blocked out the stars behind them, and made no sound.[1]
Other reports

Cabrera said others at Area 2 reported lights, disembodied voices, shadowy humanoids and claw marks. Hastings added the account of another former security policeman, who served there from 2002 to 2008, who described unexplained lights, intrusion alarms with odd effects, and in 2004 an eight- or nine-foot silhouetted figure that outran security teams. That man later stopped communicating, fearing official repercussions.[1]
