Albert M. Chop (1916–2006) was a civilian press officer for the U.S. Air Force who handled media questions about UFOs in 1952–53, including during the Washington, D.C., sightings, when he was present in the radar room as targets were tracked.

Chop became convinced that some UFOs were real and unexplained. He later said the CIA had blocked a planned Air Force press release about UFOs in early 1953 and that a debunking policy followed. He joined the board of NICAP and helped Donald Keyhoe with his writing. He was portrayed in the 1956 documentary film Unidentified Flying Objects: The True Story of Flying Saucers.
