Lonnie Zamora (1933–2009) was a police officer in Socorro, New Mexico.
The Socorro landing

On 24 April 1964, while chasing a speeding car, Zamora heard a roar and saw a flame in the sky. In a gully, he saw a white, egg-shaped object on legs and two small figures in white beside it. As he approached, it roared and flew away. Investigators found burn marks and landing impressions. J. Allen Hynek and Project Blue Book investigated and listed it as unexplained. Zamora was widely regarded as honest and avoided publicity afterwards.
