The "trick" memo

In August 1966, before the study began, Low wrote a memo suggesting the project could be presented to the public as objective while the scientific community would see it as finding nothing. When two project members, David Saunders and Norman Levine, shared the memo with outside scientists in 1968, they were fired, and Look magazine published an article on the scandal. Critics saw the memo as evidence the study was biased from the start.
