Peter Gersten is an American lawyer who represented Citizens Against UFO Secrecy in lawsuits to obtain UFO documents in the late 1970s and 1980s. His case against the CIA and NSA led to the release of CIA records and the NSA's 1980 affidavit explaining why it withheld about 135 documents.

Gersten also sued the government over the 1980 Cash–Landrum incident in Texas, where witnesses said they were injured by a UFO escorted by helicopters. He later became involved in more speculative areas and left UFO litigation.
