Bruce Maccabee (1942–2024) was an American optical physicist who worked for the U.S. Navy at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. He was one of the most technical UFO researchers, known for analysing photographs and films.
Research

Maccabee obtained thousands of pages of FBI UFO documents through FOIA in the 1970s and studied cases such as the 1950 McMinnville photos, the 1978 New Zealand Kaikoura film and the 1987 Gulf Breeze photographs, which he considered authentic, a view many disputed. He was a long-time member of NICAP and the Fund for UFO Research.
