Bernard Haisch is an American astrophysicist who spent much of his career at the Lockheed Martin Solar and Astrophysics Laboratory in Palo Alto, California, studying the Sun and stars. He was scientific editor of the Astrophysical Journal and editor of the Journal of Scientific Exploration, which publishes research on unusual phenomena.
Zero-point field theory

In 1994, with Alfonso Rueda and Hal Puthoff, Haisch proposed that inertia, an object's resistance to changes in motion, might come from its interaction with the quantum vacuum, the zero-point field. The idea, if correct, could point toward ways of reducing inertia, but it is not accepted by mainstream physics.
Other work
Haisch has written about consciousness and religion, including The God Theory (2006), and has supported serious study of UFOs.
