Jim Penniston is a retired U.S. Air Force security police sergeant who was one of the first airmen to investigate lights in Rendlesham Forest, England, in the early hours of 26 December 1980.
His account

Penniston said he approached a small, triangular, glowing craft, touched it and saw symbols on its surface, which he sketched in his notebook. Years later he said that while touching it he received a stream of binary code, which he wrote down in 2010. Skeptics see the binary story as a late addition. In 2022, Grant Cameron described a meeting between Penniston and Kit Green. He co-wrote The Rendlesham Enigma (2019).
