Vannevar Bush (1890–1974) was an American engineer and science administrator who led the Office of Scientific Research and Development during World War II, overseeing projects including the early atomic bomb effort.
UFO connection

In 1948 the Pentagon's Research and Development Board, which Bush had chaired, publicly dismissed flying saucers. In 1950, Canadian engineer Wilbert Smith wrote that U.S. scientist Robert Sarbacher said a small group led by Bush was studying saucers. Sarbacher repeated this in a 1983 letter. The MJ-12 papers list Bush as a member.
