On 6 March 2015 former defence contractor Bob Fish emailed John Podesta, then about to chair Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, claiming that the Air Force's Defense Support Program (DSP) satellites collected hard data on unidentified flying objects. The email was among Podesta's messages published by WikiLeaks in 2016.[1]
The email

Under the subject line "Leslie Kean book - DSP program", Fish suggested Podesta file the information away for future reference. He wrote that he had never been fully briefed into DSP operations but had met members of the program as the U.S. prepared for the 1990–91 Gulf War, lunching with them in the cafeteria of a highly classified organisation in El Segundo, California, where everyone held top-secret clearances.[1]
"Fastwalker"

Fish said one of them, excited, described having just detected a "Fastwalker" that came from deep space, passed close to a DSP satellite and made a 30-degree course change, which meant it was not following the ballistic path of a meteor and was under some kind of control. Fish pointed to a line in the Air Force's DSP fact sheet saying that Aerospace Corporation researchers had used DSP data for a hazard support system, and suggested that years of Fastwalker data existed and could reveal patterns if analysed.[1]
DSP

The Defense Support Program satellites, first launched in 1970, use infrared sensors to detect missile launches and other heat sources from geosynchronous orbit.[2]
Context

Podesta had long publicly supported the release of government UFO records, and Fish's subject line referred to journalist Leslie Kean, who had written about Podesta's interest.[1][3]
Assessment
Fish's account is second-hand and about 24 years old by his own reckoning. No DSP "Fastwalker" data has been released.[1]
