Former CIA physician Kit Green has said that, after returning to medical practice in the 2000s, he collected clinical data on people who reported injuries after close encounters with unusual aerial objects. In 2022 he said he believed the injuries were caused by human technology, not anything extraterrestrial.[1][2]
The AAWSAP paper

In about 2010 Green wrote a paper for Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies, which held the Defense Intelligence Agency's AAWSAP contract. Titled "Anomalous Acute and Subacute Field Effects on Human Biological Tissues", it was one of about 38 papers collected for the program. It summarised reported injuries to observers of "anomalous advanced aerospace systems" and argued that clinical diagnosis of injured people might help work out how such systems functioned.[1]
The 2022 release
When the DIA released the paper under FOIA in 2022, media reports presented it as an official finding that people had been hurt by otherworldly craft. Writer Jack Brewer reported that in an April 2022 phone call Green said the perpetrators, in his judgment, were human, that he was still generating hypotheses, and that he had clinical data on individuals rather than scientific data.[1]
The database

Green has been quoted as saying that a quarter of his patients died within five to seven years, and that he was compiling a database of people with enigmatic injuries after face-to-face encounters, expected to take about two years to analyse. He also reviewed the classified medical records of Rendlesham witness John Burroughs.[2]
Garry Nolan
Stanford pathologist Garry Nolan said in a December 2021 interview that people associated with the CIA and aerospace companies had asked him to analyse blood and review brain scans from people who had reportedly been close to UAP. He did not say who they were.[1]
Assessment
The underlying patient data has not been published, and the conclusions have not been independently confirmed.[1]
