The books, published through his organisation Leading Edge Research Group, claimed that grey aliens were secretly involved in human affairs, that the U.S. government had made deals with them, and that underground bases existed. They mixed material from John Lear, Bill Cooper and others with Valerian's own claims about mind control. The books were influential in the 1990s conspiracy culture but are not supported by evidence.
