Don Schmitt is an American UFO researcher who worked with the Center for UFO Studies and co-wrote several books on Roswell with Kevin Randle, including UFO Crash at Roswell (1991), and later with Tom Carey, including Witness to Roswell (2007).
Controversy

Schmitt was criticised in the 1990s after researchers found he had exaggerated his credentials. He was later involved in the 2015 Roswell Slides event, where photographs claimed to show an alien were shown to depict a mummified child. He co-founded a Roswell research group to continue investigations.
