I spend a lot of time watching the sky out back see a lot of plane traffic that is heading northeast of Philadelphia. Last time I asked for an opinion, it ended up being Venus so I’ve been using Night Sky to get my bearings.

Tonight I saw a few of these reddish dots. They moved just a tad faster then the other lights in the sky and never started blinking like most of the other air traffic does (something with the angle at which I’m viewing the airplane as it approaches). These appeared to have a soft glow and were more of a dot than an orb as others have described. I saw three move to the right across my view and caught this one on video.

They all appeared to fly lower than other air traffic. This one drifted directly over me and really creeped me out. I’ve never been more upset that my phone ran out of storage while recording. I thought to scramble and delete something or to grab my flashlight on the other side of the door, but I have developed a habit of just taking in the moment and that’s what I did. I’ve also watched countless dots in the sky that ended up being a plane, a satellite, a star… It seemed really close at it passed and its glow diminished the closer it got. It felt like I was looking at it really close and really far away at the same time.
