In 1983 Robert Sarbacher wrote to researcher William Steinman naming Walker as someone who had attended meetings about crashed saucers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. When researchers contacted Walker in the 1980s, he gave unclear answers, at times appearing to confirm knowledge of the subject and at other times denying it. These exchanges are often cited, but they prove little on their own.
