Laurance Rockefeller (1910–2004) was an American businessman, philanthropist and conservationist, a grandson of John D. Rockefeller. In the 1990s he funded UFO research and lobbied the Clinton White House for disclosure.
The Rockefeller Initiative

From 1993 to 1996, Rockefeller met with Clinton's science adviser John Gibbons and sent materials on UFOs and Roswell, urging the government to release information. He funded the "Best Available Evidence" report on UFOs (1995) and the 1997 Sturrock panel at his estate, where scientists reviewed physical evidence and recommended further study.
