Howe, born on 20 January 1942, worked in television documentary production and won three regional Emmy awards. Her 1980 documentary A Strange Harvest, about cattle mutilations, suggested that the wounds found on cattle were the work of extraterrestrial beings taking body parts and that the U.S. government was complicit; Howe received a 1981 regional Emmy for audio achievement for it.[1][3]

Through it she has published interviews with people claiming knowledge of government UFO secrets, reports on animal mutilations and crop formations, and coverage of science and environmental topics. She has also been a frequent guest on the radio show Coast to Coast AM.[1][2]
