Timothy Floyd Burchett (born 25 August 1964) is an American Republican politician who has represented Tennessee's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2019. He is one of the most outspoken members of Congress on UFOs, and has repeatedly accused the government of hiding information about them.[1]

Burchett served in the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999 and the Tennessee Senate from 1999 to 2010, then as mayor of Knox County from 2010 to 2018. He was elected to Congress in 2018.[1]

In January 2023 Burchett said the government had been covering up UFOs since the 1940s. He has since made claims about the reverse-engineering of recovered technology and, in January 2025, about alien bases under the sea; these claims have not been substantiated.[1]

He appeared in the 2025 documentary The Age of Disclosure. In November 2023 he hosted Navy pilot Ryan Graves on his podcast Tennessee Talks. Together with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, he was among the members of Congress whose pressure preceded President Trump's February 2026 order to release government UFO files, and after the first release in May 2026 he predicted that later releases would be much bigger.[1][2][3]
