On 6 March 2015 former defence contractor Bob Fish sent John Podesta a second email, published by WikiLeaks in 2016, recounting a lunch with a senior Air Force NCO who said he had worked for Project Blue Book in the 1970s, after its official closure.[1]

Under the subject line "Leslie Kean book - Blue Book", Fish said he had been prompted by an online article linking leaked NSA documents to Dan Sherman's claims, though he did not know Sherman or whether that program was real. He said he had worked with Fort Meade on classified communications projects, including President Reagan's 1986 dedication of the new NSA headquarters building.[1]

The NCO's story

Fish said the NCO, whom he met in the same top-secret cafeteria in El Segundo, California, was an electronic intelligence technician who flew in RC-135 aircraft from MacDill Air Force Base, usually targeting Cuba. According to Fish, the man said his flights were sometimes diverted to track UFOs off Florida's east coast, which had a landing and take-off area in the ocean east of Miami, and gave off a specific electronic signature when entering or leaving the water. He said they filmed the objects several times, and that he also flew secretly on WC-135 hurricane-hunting flights over the area, reporting afterwards to a dedicated intelligence officer.[1]

Fish's conclusion

Fish argued that if this was true, Blue Book had not really ended in 1970 and only its public layer had been removed.[1]

The account is second-hand, from an unnamed source recalled decades later. No such films or records have been released.[1][2]
