Lockheed Martin is one of the largest U.S. defense contractors, formed in 1995 from the merger of Lockheed and Martin Marietta. Its Advanced Development Programs division, known as the Skunk Works, built some of the most secret aircraft of the Cold War, including the U-2, the A-12 and SR-71 Blackbird, and the F-117 stealth fighter.
UFO connections

Lockheed's secret aircraft explain some historical UFO sightings, and the company appears in many claims about hidden programs. Former Senate leader Harry Reid said he was told for decades that Lockheed held UFO crash fragments; the company has not commented. Engineers including Kelly Johnson, Boyd Bushman and Bernard Haisch, and executive Rob Weiss, appear in UFO-related stories.
