Non-human intelligence (NHI) is a term for intelligent beings or systems of non-human origin, used deliberately to avoid assuming they are extraterrestrial. It appears in the 2023 UAP Disclosure Act proposed by Senators Chuck Schumer and Mike Rounds and in testimony by David Grusch, who told Congress the U.S. had recovered "non-human" craft and "biologics".
Use
The term covers several possibilities discussed by researchers: visitors from other planets, intelligences from other dimensions or times, or an unknown terrestrial intelligence, as in the ultraterrestrial hypothesis. Officials and skeptics note that no evidence of non-human intelligence has been confirmed.
